Oystermouth cemetery

Burials first began at Oystermouth cemetery in 1883. The cemetery covers approximately 28 acres in Mumbles

New graves are available for burial (including in the woodland burial section) as well as reopening of existing family graves.  

Memorialisation options include a cremated remains plot scheme (bricked/earthen) and a scattering Gardens of Remembrance. Services are available Monday to Saturday and are 30 minutes long.

Opening times

Access to cars and other vehicles are available at the following times. There are no restrictions for pedestrian access as public rights of way exist throughout the cemetery.

9.00am - 4.30pm Monday to Thursday

9.00am - 4.00pm Friday

10.00am - 4.00pm Weekends & Bank Holidays.

Travelling to Oystermouth Cemetery

Postcode - SA3 4SW

Travelling by car - From Swansea City Centre/ A4067 Oystermouth Road. Follow the signs to Mumbles and continue on Oystermouth Road for 4 miles going straight on at the mini roundabout at West Cross. When entering Mumbles turn right at the next mini roundabout and go up Newton Road towards Oystermouth Castle. Stay on Newton Road for around half a mile. The entrance to Oystermouth Cemetery is signposted on the left. Turn right and enter through the gates into the cemetery.

Travelling by bus - The cemetery is close to a bus route from Swansea Quadrant Bus Station to Limeslade Bay. The route is served by the No 2B bus hourly. Alight the bus at Underhill Park and walk the short distance to the cemetery gates.

Travelling by train - The nearest station is Swansea High Street Station.  Buses and taxis can be found at the front of the station.  Oystermouth Cemetery is approximately 20 minutes drive.
