High 5 2015 Leon Britton

The footballer, who is the ambassador for the High 5 awards 2017, today thanked everyone who had nominated so far including schools, parents, siblings, council staff and other individuals.

And he called for anyone who has not yet nominated to get on line or on the phone to make sure all those being the best they can be or making their community or school the best it can be are nominated too.

Leon said: "Thank you to everyone who has nominated so far. Your nomination will help show those children and young people their efforts are appreciated and let them know how proud you are of the way they have overcome challenges to improve their lives or to make life better for others.

"I hope even more people with nominate to help us to make sure more worthy young people get High 5 recognition individually, as a group, or even as a whole school class.

"It's easy to nominate online at www.swansea.gov.uk/high5awards or leave a message at 01792 635699 to make an application over the phone or get assistance."

The High 5 awards are open to any child or young person or group or class in three age ranges - under 13s, aged 19 or under or 20-25 year olds - so long as they are resident in Swansea, educated or receiving support here.

All you need to do is let judges know why you think the person, group or class is an inspiration and deserves a High 5 Award.

Nominations should include how they have improved, what they have achieved, any challenges they have overcome and how that's changed their life or benefited their family, community or school.

Everyone nominated will receive a certificate. Those selected as final winners will also receive an extra special prize with them in mind.
