Superstar singers and Christmas concerts among Brangwyn winter line-up

Superstar singers, Christmas concerts and the Swansea International Festival are among the events people can look forward at the Brangwyn over coming weeks and months.

The events are among many which form part of the attraction's autumn and winter line-up that's now been published.

The Swansea International Festival, taking place at the Brangwyn and other venues across the city between September 30 and October 15, includes world class music, dance, films, talks and family events.

Other forthcoming events include Elaine Paige on November 11 and Katherine Jenkins on December 1. Ocean Colour Scene guitarist Steve Cradock will also join members of the Paul Weller Band and others as part of the Songbook Collective on October 16.

Handel's Messiah on December 18 and Christmas by Candlelight on December 23 will help generate festive spirit.

Other planned events at the Brangwyn include a German Beer Festival on October 22 and a Rocky Horror Monster Halloween Ball on October 28. Beaujolais Day at the Brangwyn is being held on November 17. Pontarddulais Male Voice Choir will also be taking to the stage on November 26.

Cllr Robert Francis-Davies, Swansea Council's Cabinet Member for Enterprise, Development and Regeneration, said: "The historic Brangwyn complex is a fantastic public facility, which has recently been expertly restored as part of a major refurbishment programme.

"The acoustics ensure that it's a first class venue for all types of music events but it's a perfect location for all sorts of other events too, ranging from wedding fayres and beer festivals to conferences and themed dinners.

"Along with world famous names like Elaine Paige and Katherine Jenkins, there's a variety of events this autumn and winter at the Brangwyn. I'd encourage people to have a look at the brochure to find out about everything that's been arranged."
