Volunteering

If you are looking for new opportunities or want a rewarding way to spend your time then you could give volunteering a go.

There are a number of opportunities for volunteering with council services. If you are looking to set up your own voluntary group or would like support for an existing group then there is lots of information at www.swansea.gov.uk/volunteering. Opportunities are available at community centres, West Glamorgan Archives and as a community driver amongst others.

You can also find out information on our Community action scheme which aims to work with community groups to look at new and innovative methods of delivery to save facilities and services for the benefit of Swansea residents. Information is available on this website at www.swansea.gov.uk/communityaction.

If you are looking for other opportunities then Swansea Council for Voluntary Services can help. Their work includes supporting and developing the Third Sector across Swansea. They represent the views of the sector to government and policy matters. As well as advice and information they are able to offer training, run a number of projects and offer resources to help volunteers and groups. You can find information about their work and how they can help you get involved with volunteering at www.scvs.org.ukOpens new window. If you would like to speak to someone for advice then you can phone them on 01792 544000 (Monday - Friday, 9.00am - 5.00pm).
