Are you feeling lonely?

If you live alone, are socially isolated or would just like to meet up with others then there are groups that can help you with advice or offer social groups.

The Silver Line is a helpline for older people. They can provide confidential information and advice to older people 24 hours a day. You can speak to someone on the phone for free on 0800 4 70 80 90. You can also receive regular phone calls or letters from Silver Line volunteers or find out about social groups in your area.

Social groups for older people

If you are looking for social groups to join then local and national agencies organise regular events across Swansea. Contact the Elderly is a charity that organises monthly Sunday tea parties for small groups of older people aged 75 and over. Befriending services

Befriending schemes help people who feel lonely or socially isolated connect with other people and the local community. Organisations in Swansea that provide these services include Age Cymru Swansea Bay, Alzheimer's Swansea Bay, Action on Hearing Loss and Hafal.
