Dementia support

Many of us will be affected by dementia at some point in our lives either as someone has it or as a carer. It can lead to a loss, often gradual, of mental abilities like thinking, remembering and reasoning.

Swansea Social Services work in partnership with local health services and the voluntary sector to support those people with dementia and their carers. Their support includes support and care at home, day centres, breaks for carers and residential care.

You can find out more information on the support they can provide on the Living with Dementia pages of this website. If you would like to speak to someone or would like to request an assessment you can contact the Adult Services Intake Team by phone on 01792 636519.

Dementia Friends offers sessions to help people understand a bit more about living with dementia and then turn that understanding into action. You will learn more about dementia and how you can help to create dementia friendly communities. You don't need to know anyone with dementia.
