Access information for Penyrheol leisure centre

Vehicle parking & outdoor routes
The car parks are adjacent to the leisure centre and swimming pool buildings and are free of charge. The dedicated blue badge parking spaces are adjacent to the building entrances, where there are dropped kerbs in place.
There is a traffic management system and areas are well lit.
There is a pedestrian route available from the main road, plus a bicycle rack.
There is a secure place for assistance dogs.

Main entrance and reception
The swimming pool building has a ramped entrance with automated doors. All facilities are at one level. The reception desk has a lowered section, and a hearing loop is available.

The leisure centre building has automated entrance doors. The reception desk has a lowered section, and a hearing loop is available. Wheelchair users will have full access to the gym, sports hall and dance studio. There is no access to the first floor of the leisure centre for wheelchair users which includes access to the balcony over looking the sports hall.

Multi-level access - lifts
The swimming pool building all on one level. 
There is no access to the first floor of the leisure centre for wheelchair users. (access is via a set of stairs).

Accessible sanitary and changing accommodation facilities
The swimming pool building has an accessible toilet and family changing rooms (no shower available).
The leisure centre building has an accessible toilet but no shower.
All toilets have sanitary provisions that also include nappy bins and baby changing units.

Lockers
Lockers are coin operated. Anyone having difficulties using the lockers should speak to reception for assistance.

Signage/induction loops
Hearing loops are available at reception, in the swimming pool and leisure centre.

Pool access
There is a pool hoist available, this requires assistance from a member of staff. Please enquire at reception.

Gym
Please note that access to the gym is through a number of corridors, but it is negotiable for wheelchair users.

Carer access
We do not charge for carers or companions accompanying disabled users who need assistance.

Please note:
• Access to the squash courts and gym is through a number of corridors but it is negotiable by wheelchair users
• There is no spectator access for wheelchair users in the leisure centre
• No access to the theatre stage for wheelchair users as all access is via flights of stairs
