Governor training - Understanding of school data (primary) (mandatory)

Mandatory governor training came into force in September 2013.

  • All new governors appointed/elected after September 2013 will be required to complete mandatory data training within one year.
  • Existing governors who have not completed local authority data training will be required to attend data training within one year of re-appointment/re-election.
  • Governors will be exempt from the requirement to undertake mandatory data training if they have completed local authority data training within one year of the regulations coming into force.
  • Governors who have a break of service of five years or more will be required to repeat the data training.
  • Governors who attend school based data training will NOT be required to attend local authority data training.
